Hi All,

Short post today... mostly I wanted to prove that I could finish a project. These are the same robots from a few weeks ago that I was working on... the "Savage-munda" gang. I assembled them, primed them, put a base coat, a wash, a little bit of detail and pronounced them ready for combat. I'm no Matakishi, but I'm proud that I got these guys from raw metal to ready in less than a week's time... with a busy work week.

I still have some more bots in my "28mm Robot" storage shoe box, but these guys are table-ready for now.

Hi All,

Last month a bunch of friends got together at the MWS gaming club meeting on 21 July 2007 and had a great time gaming, the way it's supposed to be: a bunch of friends gathering, all having prepped some figures for sci-fi skirmish gangs (...I brought a robot gang), a well thought-out game scenario, and some gorgeous terrain. Mark C., Richard M., Mike O., and I built gangs to play in Richard's adaptation of Necromunda to the Savage Worlds rule set. The Savage-munda game was a good time for all who played in it.

One of the stand-outs from the terrain lay-out was the Government Teleportation Pad Complex (GTPC), which was made from three pieces:

1. A large two-story structure with an open passage through it.

2. An attached landing pad structure for aircraft.

3. A circular Teleportation Pad that could be placed on the landing pad.

It's Mark C.'s creation so please take a gander and admire his craftsmanship:

They get great salaries, but the death benefits really suck.

Please notice how Government employees don't seem to mind stepping on each other.

The skeletal remains of that Government employee sure don't get much respect.

It really sucked to be Mike.

In the game, it ended up being the death knell for poor Mike O. who snuck around in the sewers and ended up randomly popping up under Mark C.'s gang, which was slaughter... to be caught out in the open with a well-armed enemy in superior firing position... who also happened to have grenades. Mike O. was a good sport about it though. Good for him. He later reincarnated back into the game as some NPCs of the "Orkie" persuasion.

I really love these terrain pieces!

MINI WARGAMING: 28mm Robot Gang In The Works!

I've been long wanting to create a 28mm sci-fi robot gang and my friend, Dick's plan to run a "Savage Worlds / Necromunda" 28mm sci-fi skirmish game this upcoming weekend has been the catalyst to help me get my "robot gang" project going. I've always loved robots from the shiny, chromed bots of the pulps to the tubey-appendaged bots of the 1950s to the latest CGI bots of Battlestar Galactica and the present. I've been collecting robot miniatures for ages waiting for a project to use them on.

This gang was originally planned for use with Star Mogul so there are a few support bots that might be less useful in "Savage-munda." We'll probably only need gangs of about eight, but I provided more bots to have a fuller roster. So, without too much more talk, here's the robo-gang I'm working on:

BOTTOM: The Brains of the Outfit - "Dr. Sinestro"...
And his two bodyguards, DCK-550 "Dick" & RCK-565 "Rick."

TOP: These figs are all recycled Heroclix collectible miniatures.

BOTTOM: Foot troop "Robo Enforcers":
LNY-15 "Lenny", BRC-55 "Bruce," & SQG-35 "Squiggy."TOP: These are all old Grenadier minis from the 80s Paranoia line.

TOP: I love these old sculpts, I had to repair the left one who came in two pieces.

GAMING NEWS: Photos From June 2007 MWS Meeting Posted.

I've simply been too busy and lazy to get some proper battle reports ready, but I do have the photos uploaded and... that's almost as good, right?

So, I have the following blog posts I'm readying for sometime in the future... no promises though as to when. Real Life TM always seems to intervene just when I get excited to get them done. Here's what I have in the queue:
