6mm-Minis

6mm-Minis is Maksim-Smelchak's blog to discuss gaming, miniatures, books, movies, food, Israel, Judaism, life in general and other funny crud. My favorite scale of miniatures is 6mm, which is also called 1/285 or 1/300 scale. I enjoy many different kinds of games including ancients, Napoleonics, WWI, WWII, the Arab-Israeli conflict, Car Wars AKA Autoduel (a sort of crash'n'derby automobile combat game), 6mm Godzilla AKA Kaiju games, and science fiction games. I'm open to everything though!

COOL STUFF: "Got Tank?"

.
TOP: Got tank?

Hi All,

I'm running around like a chicken missing its noggin, but I'm taking a small break in my schedule to share this with my readers as this is the coolest news I've seen in some time:

GET YOURSELF A LEOPARD!

De-commissioned Leopard Tanks will soon be available for gifting to veteran and historical organisations across Australia, as part of the Howard Government’s acquisition of the new Abrams Tanks.

The Leopard tanks entered service in 1977 and have been central to the Australian Army’s armoured warfare capability.

The 59 Abrams Tanks, that will replace the Leopards, are the next generation of technology. The Abrams will be harder to hit. And when the Abrams hit, they will hit harder.

To be eligible for consideration organisations should be able to demonstrate that the tank will be of some historical or cultural significance to them.

Organisations interested in receiving a de-commissioned Leopard Tank should register their interest with the Leopard Disposals Manager, 256-310 St Kilda Road, SOUTHBANK VIC 3006, or phone 03 9282 4162, by Friday, 12 October 2007.

Due to the limited number of tanks available interested organisations are encouraged to register their interest as soon as possible.

I'm sure the tanks will be demilitarized, but it's still very cool!

You can see the full press release here:

And I first heard about it here at the TO&Es Yahoo E-group:

Go Australia!
Have a great Thursday!

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

    Hi Tas,

There surely must be some reason you NEED one... LOL ;o)

It's them Roos, right? A veritable plague of them... they breed like rabbits, right?
